From April 25, 2016 to May 16, 2016, I was fortunate to be the “artist in residence” at Luxton School. During my time there, I worked with six groups of children, building “Together Building” sculptures. The sculptures were made from cardboard boxes, discarded materials, found objects, collage, etc. The emphasis of the project was to explore self expression, teach sustainable practices of Art making, and develop collaboration skills. Luxton School has such a wonderful sense of community. It was a pleasure to have a opportunity to be immersed in the creativity and history of the Scotia Heights neighbourhood school.
